Basing it on local geographic areas will provide a map of social cohesiveness in Australia as a potential tool for building capacity and empowerment. I am often looking for local data for local community service organisations who are wishing to develop programs, tender for programs, show how they contribute to making a difference in their communities etc. There is so little data available, at least publically and this would be a great help. When social inclusion indicators can be provided at local levels there will be enormous potential for evaluating the outcomes of community development. Helen has spent considerable time investigating the availability of this data and what a wonderful practical opportunity now to have it developed and available. Well done!
